Frank Potts' abilities as a sailor led him to Langhorne Creek and, ironically, a life on the land. In 1850 he cleared a stand of red gums and founded Bleasdale. Today it is one of Australia's longest running and historic family owned wineries.

Bleasdale is situated on the fertile flood plains of the Bremer River. Successive deposits of silt and nutrients allow red grape varieties to thrive. Cooling summer breezes from Lake Alexandrina and the Southern Ocean reduce evening temperatures. In summer, the ripening season, the grapes ripen evenly. Winemaker Paul Hotker picks early. Minimal influence winemaking allows the quirks of the region to shine.

Langhorne Creek is a hidden gem for Australian reds. Bleasdale highlights include The Iron Duke Cabernet Sauvignon, Double Take Malbec and The Powder Monkey Shiraz. They offer value for money at every price point.
